You can begin with legitimate accounts run by an internal team, briefs and a spreadsheet. A service becomes relevant when coordination, markets or interfaces create concrete constraints. Evaluate scope, cost and responsibility for each layer. The tool should answer a problem already articulated.
A shared sheet may cover a first cycle: account, idea, file, status and observed outcome. When transfer errors recur, an interface may add real value. Evaluate it against those specific errors. That reasoning makes vendor selection explainable and also reveals when no additional purchase is necessary. The category remains useful because its principles can guide work before a particular provider enters the process.
Make the operating record portable.
An AGD framework should remain intelligible when the infrastructure vendor changes. Keep the account brief, creative concept, asset rights, publication record and measurement definitions in formats the team controls. An account should not exist only as a row in one provider’s interface. Its purpose and history should remain readable to the next operator, including the decisions that stopped a promising-looking idea from shipping.

When comparing infrastructure, ask which part of this operating record it can execute or export. Check documented capabilities rather than assuming every advertised platform is available through every API or MCP tool. Run a small, reviewable workflow before migrating a larger one. A provider may be excellent at native execution while leaving creative review and commercial attribution to your own system; that is a boundary to design around, not a reason to invent capabilities.
