Separate observations made during preparation from those collected after publishing. The first can show improved niche understanding without proving a distribution effect. Keeping these benefits distinct avoids an all-or-nothing verdict. The practice may support creative research even when a reach test remains inconclusive. Describe exactly which benefit was observed so a practical learning outcome does not silently become a claim about platform recommendation behavior.
Turn a ritual into a testable procedure
Warming is often described with enough ambiguity to survive any outcome. If results are good, the routine worked; if results are weak, the account needed more warming. A study needs a procedure specific enough to fail. Define the permitted actions, duration, account state and expected effect before starting. Separate ordinary account familiarisation from claims about distribution benefits. Avoid actions that manufacture engagement or violate platform rules. The research question should concern a legitimate operational routine, not a disguised attempt to simulate an audience.

The useful deliverable may be a clearer onboarding checklist and fewer operator mistakes, even when a causal reach benefit remains unproven.
