API Slop criticizes mass delivery of undifferentiated content without attention to accounts or context.

1 / 3 · YOUR OWN PACE

An API can orchestrate human execution, manage approvals or make outcomes readable. Trouble starts when technical ease becomes the sole publishing criterion. Ask each delivery: why this content on this account? If the answer is only “because we can,” pause the queue.

A queue rule can reject an asset when no account rationale is supplied. Rejection does not prove the content is bad; it means its destination is unexplained. This useful friction prevents easy delivery from becoming editorial policy. The team can correct routing or revisit the idea before creating more versions. Automation then protects a meaningful decision instead of multiplying an unexamined one.

Correct JSON can still publish the wrong thing

A request can satisfy every field constraint while failing the editorial task. The asset may belong to another account, the caption may promise a feature the product lacks, or the chosen format may make the explanation unreadable. Schema validation catches structural mistakes; it cannot carry all the judgement embedded in a brief. Add semantic checks that compare the proposed action with the account promise, approved version and evidence. Make a mismatch visible before the operation reaches the publishing tool.

THE IDEA, UNPACKED

Validation has more than one layer

  1. 01
    Syntax

The request matches the tool's input contract.

  2. 02
    Context

Account, asset and destination match the brief.

  3. 03
    Meaning

The post makes a useful, supported promise.

Editorial model: a way to reason about the process, not measured platform results.

Do not respond by adding vague adjectives to every prompt. Give the workflow concrete references, forbidden claims and a small set of questions it must answer about the draft. Who is this for? What does the viewer learn? Which part of the post supports the promise? Which destination continues it? Keep a human review route for claims or assets that the system cannot verify. Automation becomes useful when it reduces repetitive work around a strong idea. It becomes slop when valid requests are mistaken for worthwhile communication.
