Routing connects creative work to an account by audience, persona, market and purpose. It is an editorial decision before a technical operation.

Good content can land on the wrong account.
Routing connects creative work to an account by audience, persona, market and purpose.
An agent can propose matches from metadata but should be able to abstain. Expert content does not automatically suit a student account because the product is the same. Keep a short rationale and rejection criteria. Difficult routing often reveals insufficiently distinct account briefs.
Keep the assignment rationale with the post. During review, compare obvious matches with uncertain ones. This can improve briefs or taxonomy instead of prompting blind account changes. A useful routing record explains why the content was placed there at decision time even if outcomes disappoint. It prevents hindsight from rewriting the original reason and makes the next matching decision easier to evaluate.
Route by editorial purpose before platform convenience
A routing system should know why an asset belongs on an account, not merely that the file fits a platform's dimensions. Attach structured labels for audience problem, language, format, rights and intended destination. Keep the account's editorial promise in the routing rules. A clever product joke can be technically publishable across several accounts while making sense on only one. When a rule cannot choose confidently, send the asset to review rather than filling the next empty slot in the calendar.
The route follows the promise
- 01Asset
Audience, language, rights and intended action.
- 02Account
A clear reason this audience would welcome it.
- 03Package
A reviewed adaptation for the destination.
Editorial model: a way to reason about the process, not measured platform results.
Validate the final package after routing. Captions, links, subtitles and platform-specific features may need adaptation, and that adaptation can change the claim. Preserve the original asset and the derived version so the team can see what was altered. Do not let routing duplicate identical posts across accounts by default when those accounts are meant to serve different audiences. Track rejected and manually reassigned assets to improve the rules. A good router makes editorial intent easier to maintain at scale; it should not turn every available channel into an indiscriminate output queue.

The limit. Forcing a match everywhere turns a library into a duplication engine.
